There are still several open spots in Peter Thornton's Gilding workshop. If you are interested in learning about gilding but are unable to attend Monday or would just like a gentle introduction to the art, Peter has offered the option of just attending Sunday's lesson.
Sunday's class will begin with a demonstration on making the gesso, laying the gesso with quills or metal nibs, and then preparing gesso before laying the gold. The interested students will do some of these practical exercises along with taking notes.
Per discussion with Peter, Sunday's session is indeed suitable for all levels of experience, so do not hesitate to come if you have never worked with gold before but would like to try.
