Did you know that for the low cost of $7.00 you can draw for 3 hours from a live model every Tuesday and Thursday at the Herron Art School? This is a drop in session for all skill levels, come when you want, stay as long as you want. On Tuesday nights there are a series of short poses starting at 30 seconds and increasing to 3 25 minute sessions. The model is typically nude. Thursday nights is a single 3 hour long pose and the model is typically clothed. Thursday nights attracts many talented portrait painters, but again all skill levels are welcomed!
This is not a class, it is an opportunity for you to come, sit, and draw a live model. For several hundred years this has been considered a foundational tool for Western art. And if you are interested I encourage you to come and draw. I promise your calligraphy will get better, and conversely I promise that calligraphy practice will make your life drawings better. I myself have been going almost every Tuesday for 7+ years.
If you have never drawn from a live nude model before I can also promise you that it is only weird the first time for the 3 seconds it takes to grab a pencil and put it on the paper. After that you're just drawing.
