Our own Ellen Simon, Empress of Italic, will be teaching beginners italic starting in February. In her own words:

Beginning Italic
Must register by February 12, 2020
This class is designed for both beginners as well as those who have had some previous experience with Italic. Italic is the alphabet most people think of when they think of calligraphy. Beginners will learn both upper and lower case letters and have weekly homework assignments which will include finished projects. Those more experienced with italic will fine tune their letters and have weekly homework with finished projects which will reflect what they have learned. Beginners supplies will cost approximately $20 -$25 and will be available at the first class. Please let us know if you are left handed so special supplies can be ordered for you. Others should bring their usual supplies to the first class.
